Welcome to GET S.M.A.R.T.® consulting services, a unit of De Novo Enterprises, LLC. GET S.M.A.R.T. is a workshop and consultancy designed to teach business owners and marketers how to define, promote and protect their brand message. Too often, a trademark is just a label rather than an asset. The GET S.M.A.R.T. program teaches clients how to be S.M.A.R.T. (Strategic, Memorable, Aligned, Resourceful and Timely) with respect to their brands to increase a brand's asset value. This involves aligning stakeholders (inside and outside the business), targeted messaging, and reputation audits, among other things.
We offer a 3-hour workshop that is structured for a minimum group of 6 and a maximum group of 18 participants and includes a case study and break-out session. For groups larger than 18, separate workshops will be scheduled. Ongoing consulting services are also available, preferably after completion of the workshop.
This program is led by Linda Tancs. Ms. Tancs managed the worldwide trademark portfolio of leading industrial and consumer products companies during her legal career. She regularly counseled in-house attorneys, executives and small business owners on trademark, trade dress, advertising, domain name issues and product packaging. She is the author of three books for brand owners, all published by Oxford University Press: Understanding Trademark Law: A Beginner's Guide, Understanding Copyright Law: A Beginner's Guide, and Understanding Patent Law: A Beginner's Guide (coming soon!).
